Taking the Guesswork Out of Labor Market Analysis
About
Data, data, data! Reviewing labor market information (LMI) can be overwhelming, especially in terms of how to interpret the numbers and apply that knowledge to workforce programming and funding decisions. Fortunately, this daunting task becomes more manageable when you incorporate key resources that take the guesswork out of the equation.
Why LMI Matters:
When the latest LMI data becomes available, it’s essential for state board leadership to engage in consistent, ongoing conversations with local workforce development boards (LWDBs). These discussions should focus on interpreting the data to inform strategies for reaching historically marginalized populations and preparing the future talent pipeline. To support these critical conversations, the Next Level Now (NLN) Collaborative is developing a resource for state and local boards to delve deeply into the latest LMI and assess its impact on workforce programs and service offerings. If you haven't already joined the NLN community, become a member and be sure you're signed up for community updates so you can stay tuned for more details!
In the meantime, this page offers key resources and links to dashboards to help you navigate labor market analysis with confidence.
