Board Governance Series: Article 3- Programmatic Focal Points for Workforce Board Staff
About
As workforce board staff, the task of program and service oversight is an immense responsibility. Staff are charged with collaborating not only within their local area, but regionally and statewide, to achieve optimum results and create transformative opportunities for job seekers and employers. Within this third article of our Board Governance series, we focus on universal resources to ensure board staff are up to date with the latest strategic approaches to reach their program metrics.
The Next Level Now (NLN) Collaborative has provided countless technical assistance (TA) to workforce board staff on this topic, as one of our five focus areas for TA is Fiscal, Programmatic, and Operational Strategies. We recently had an intensive TA request submitted from a local workforce board staff member who needed guidance on how to effectively collaborate with workforce partners such as community colleges, vocational rehabilitation, and economic development organizations, in order to leverage their programs and additional funding resources for the benefit of their workforce customers. In response, we provided many of the resources found below, in addition to a connection with two similar sized boards who are actively engaged with regional partners on holistic program and service delivery.
An Emphasis on Regional Collaboration
